First boohoo Haul!

Fam, we are gathered here today to bear witness to the amazingness that is boohoo. Their colors, patterns, and textures have me so done, I am counting down the days until I can place my next order! This haul, y’all? This is what dreams are made of. The variety, the quality… the quick turn around. When I find something this good I have a hard time paring down my wish list into a feasible order. That, and I can’t help feeling like I’ve been wasting so much of my time and money over the years shopping at other stores that don’t have me in mind as a customer. But now there’s boohoo.

Boohoo is a UK based brand that caters to consumers internationally. They produce clothing and accessories not just for women but for men, children, plus, petite, tall… a brand for everyone. Did I mention they pretty much always have a sale going on? Yeah… are you kidding me? Who does that?! Well, boohoo does. And thank goodness! Just browsing their site and seeing all that they have to offer had me chomping at the bit to try them out. And if you’re anywhere near the lone star state, you’re in luck! Because they’re currently branching out with a pop-up store in Austin, Tx!

And finally, THUNDERCATS ARE GOOOOO! I was able to narrow things down to just eleven items to try out and review for y’all. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to find so much my first time ordering AND better still, that it was all very affordable, even for a sale snob like myself. Everything I bought was on sale for 50% off so really it was a steal.

The first item I snagged was actually separate from the rest of this haul. Because I’m impatient. And I thought the clock was running down on the sale (because the site told me the clock was running down on the sale) and I didn’t want to miss this dress. So I was a little miffed to find out that the so-called sale that was about to end, did not end. It started over almost immediately. And then there was another sale. And another one. Sometimes the sales were a bit better but they were never very far apart in their timing or their pricing. So I will say that as a customer, no matter how great the product is, I do not appreciate feeling as though I’m being tricked.

Now, let’s get back to this gorgeous, ochre colored dress. I did size up, which I tend to do when ordering online and with these more bohemian pieces, a little extra flowy fabric can’t hurt. I will say that it’s very thin and doesn’t have any lining so I will be pairing this with something underneath. You’ll see I couldn’t wait to wear it out the other day over a dark olive maxi dress with some turquoise jewelry. I’ve seen similar dresses from various brands on the market right now selling for hundreds of dollars. So for only $23.00, you can see the appeal.

Now the rest of this haul, I will warn you, I did not style. I just tried them on to be able to show y’all. So if you’d like to see how I style these pieces IRL be sure to follow me on Instagram @milestogoxo! This is a super easy cotton jersey swing dress in a dark navy color with a sort of orangey-gold paisley print. The material again is very thin and it hits me about mid-thigh so I probably won’t be wearing this without tights, jeans, or leggings. And while I personally can’t imagine paying nearly $30.00 for this dress, I don’t mind spending only $14.00. It’s not super high quality but on a morning when I can’t decide what to wear or when I’m in a hurry, this will be an amazingly simple answer.

Listed: $28.00 … 50% OFF: $14.00

Looking for a way to switch up your LBD game? How about some fun texture or a bit of whimsical embroidery? Maybe some bell sleeves? This skater dress has you covered on all counts. Again, lower quality fabric meant for mass production means this is not a very thick dress but it isn’t itchy either and it does have a very fair amount of stretch. Not a $46 dress. But a $23 dress? Sure. Again, it hits me about mid-thigh so I’ll be pairing this with some tights when I’m out and about.

Listed: $46.00 … 50% OFF: $23.00

I’m pretty excited about this next one. As simple and basic as it may be, it’s the kind of piece that doesn’t need a lot of bells and whistles to pack a punch. It’s a midi length cotton jersey dress with a hanky hem. The sleeves are a bit outside of my comfort zone, somewhere between 3/4 sleeves and short sleeves. Half sleeves I guess? Not sure how I feel about them–they tend to cut my arms funny. But the overall dress length and light weight are great for any time of year. The deep plum color is incredibly flattering and it helps to switch up my wardrobe as I tend to wear a lot of black. Very on trend for fall. I love it!

Listed: $20.00 … 50% OFF: $10.00

Aaaand now that I’ve just talked about switching things up and not wearing so much black, here’s more black. But in a laid back casual way. I don’t normally purchase jersey dresses. Or skirts. Really I reserve it for tshirts. But with the right cut, jersey can be an amazing fabric and with a company like boohoo that is so carefully focused on marketing to everyone, these jersey dresses skim away from the body and are both comfortable and flattering. With a fun celestial detail on the sleeves, I couldn’t resist. It’s perfectly just in time for the witching season.

Listed: $28.00… 50% OFF: $14.00

This skirt? I’m not gonna lie, it’s nothing special. It’s  super basic. And it doesn’t exactly match the color online which had more lavender tones to it, less brown. But it’s a nice, long jersey maxi skirt WITH pockets that will be great this fall with a cheeky tshirt and a cool jacket or slouchy sweater. This may be the one piece in this haul that I may have returned, but I’ll keep it and put it to good use.

Listed: $18.00… 50% OFF: $14.00

And onto tops! these next two tshirts require little, if any, explanation. They’re amazing. They’re light and comfortable and will be easy, strong staples in my closet. I mean, there are other ways of being subtle, right?

Listed: $18.00… 50% OFF: $9.00

Listed: $18.00… 50% OFF: $9.00

Y’all… this jacket? TWELVE DOLLARS?! Come. On. I know it seems a little flamboyant with such dramatic sleeves, but it’s so well structured in the body and the collar that it can carry a bit of drama. I love the unexpected edge that it gives a basic jacket.

Listed: $25.00 … 50% OFF: $12.50

When the 20’s roll back around, you will find me living my best life in this black velvet, tie wasted duster with kimono sleeves. Until then I guess I’ll just have to tough it out and make fabulous outfits with this piece. It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it. This duster, a cool tee or classy long sleeved shirt with some jeans and boots. I’m golden. It’s stretchy, cut well and super comfortable. $23 y’all. $23…. I will be wearing this constantly.

Listed: $46.00… 50% OFF: $23.00

Okay…are y’all ready? I mean it. I have saved the best for last. This has got to be my favorite piece of clothing at the moment. It’s an American classic with a twist:

  • REAL denim, no stretch.
  • Double breasted pockets
  • Dual seaming accents along the front
  • Traditional buttons
  • Oversized fit for comfort

And my personal favorite touch, a phrase of empowerment emblazoned on the back. I. LOVE. This. Jacket. This is a definitely a higher quality item that I probably would have paid full price for. Lucky for me, I didn’t have to.

Listed: $56.00… 50% OFF: $28.00

Thoughts? Alright. Overal quality is on par with sale pricing but I wouldn’t pay full asking price for most of these items, with a few exceptions. I think the little jersey dresses will last maybe a season or two but they’re not long wear investment items. The jacket? Hands down such an amazing find. Again, I would be willing to pay full price for something like this. And that yellow boho dress? I feel like myself in that dress. Definitely worth it. Will I buy from boohoo again? Most definitely. I can’t wait to see what else they come out with! Well Miles Tribe, I hope you enjoyed this haul even half as much as I did.
