In the Dressing Room: Torrid try on

Hello Miles tribe! And welcome back. Today I thought we’d do something a little different. So instead of showing y’all my amazing finds after the fact, I thought it would be fun to invite you into the dressing room and into my process. This is just a small clothing try on at my local Torrid for y’all so if you would love to see more just be sure to like this post, leave a comment below and don’t forget to hit subscribe so that you don’t miss the next one!

Alright, so let’s get started!

So the first item I tried was this lace, cold shoulder blouse. I had seen this previously  when it first came to stores and loved it then but didn’t love it quite enough to pay full price. Today, however, was a different story. Today this top was on clearance. And clearance? Well, clearance was an additional 50% off. So when all was said and done this top cost me $18. It’ll pair easily with dark wash jeans or leggings and riding boots. Maybe a vest, skinny scarf, and a hat for fall. We’ll see.

I am always, ALWAYS a sucker for a little black dress. This one may seem fairly standard and unassuming but you’ll notice it has some tiered lace ruffles instead of being your average black skater dress. It’s these subtle details which lend the garment a certain bohemian softness. It’s the kind of thing that makes people stop and do a double take. I would wear this with a simple sweater, tights, and boots with simple jewelry like a glass pendant on a long chain.

If you saw my earlier post from last week you may recall that orange “is my signature color.” Just kidding. But seriously, orange is significantly underrated (in my humble opinion) so I am thrilled that it’s having a bit of a moment in fashion. This particular dress is an easy chiffon number with elasticize bodice and a tie front. It is what fall dreams are made of. It would be super easy to style, too. Just a jean jacket, some cool boots and I’m out the door.

Another trend that I’ve seen a lot of this last year is something called athleisure or athletic leisure wear. Now I’m a firm believer in wearing whatever, whenever, however you want so long as you’re happy and expressing yourself in a positive way. For me personally, this specific road is not one I have any desire to venture down. But if I did, I would be wearing this mauvey-blush satin bomber with floral embroidery over an oversized white tee, jeans, and kicks.

And then…..

…there was…

the dress.

So I’ve saved the best for last. And y’all… I hope you love this as much as I do. This dress was love at first sight. Head over heels, homerun, angels singing kind of love. I saw this originally online as part of Torrid’s new fall collection and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. My local store got the dress in shipment today and I was lucky enough to be the first to try it on thanks to one  awesome associate who busted open the box just to help me out. In this dress, I am Sandra Bullock as Sally Owens. I am Madchen Amick as Aunt Wendy Beauchamp. This dress is what dreams are made of. Magic. Mystery. All the good things. I’m gushing, obviously. But…can you blame me? Bonus: Torrid’s friends and family sale was going on when I found this so I saved 30%!

So if my last two trips to Torrid are any indication of what this fall has in store, I am beyond excited.
