From Blood Orange to Ox Blood: favorite fall lipstick

Welcome back, y’all! As you know, I am on a bit of a fall kick because, well, let’s face it–fall is the best. One of my favorite things about fall is all of the deep, rich colors especially when it comes to makeup. One of the easiest ways to create dramatic contrast with minimal effort is with a great, velvety lip color. So here are a few of my favorite lip colors, courtesy of NYX cosmetics, as we round the corner into autumn.

I always begin with a hydrated lip. My favorite chapstick is the Rosy Lips by Vaseline.

For an easy, every day color just a little more defined than my natural lip I use the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the color Stockholm. It’s just a little peachy and very subtle for that “no makeup” makeup look.

This next color is probably my most used color regardless of the season. This is the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in the color Soft-Spoken. It’s an easy mauve color that’s complimentary on multiple different skin tones. And this particular liquid lipstick dries down matte but has an added moisture that NYX’S matte cream lipsticks lack. I’ve noticed that it also requires less maintenance which is always a plus.

So now we’re going “full dark, no stars” as Betty Cooper would say. This vampy lip was achieved with the NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner Crayon in the color Vintage. It’s a deep, reddish brown color that really packs a punch. This color is bold and unapologetically confident in all the right ways. So if you need a reason, I dare you.

This last lip color is bold in a different way. For the lighter, brighter days there’s nothing quite like a pop of crimson red. NYX’S Soft Matte Lip Cream in Amsterdam is a “classic beauty” kind of lip color that can lift your spirits and get you ready to take on the world.

So whether I’m looking for an excuse to take things to new heights or just a low key pick-me-up, NYX has me covered. These are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to their products and I can’t wait to explore the rest. So stay tuned by clicking on the subscribe button so you don’t miss out! Leave a comment below with some of your favorite lip products and/or lip colors for this fall season. I’d love to check them out!
